Week 2

Reflection on Lecture 2:

In this weeks lecture we learn about the value of reflection and reflective writing and how it differs form a piece of descriptive writing. We learn that by reflecting effectively on allows us to best develop our skills and our weaknesses form mistakes that we may have made in past assignments. It allows for a clear path to be set out to allow for improved work moving forward. We learnt about Borton’s cue questions and Borton’s three elements , what? , so what? And now what? I learnt how by asking yourself these key questions you will be able to understand the actual root of the issues that you may have had and allows for planning to prevent it from happening again. We also learnt about Gibbs’s model which is a more structured and guided model of reflection. In addition I also learn that it is vital to steer clear from writing descriptively as this allows for very few marks to be awarded in your favour.

Reflection on group work:

This week within my group we came up with some ideas for questions to ask not only students within the business school but teachers as well . We aim to each ask a t least one member of staff and a number of students these questions to try and understand where the main issues within the business school are. This week however there was only me and one other group member attending the seminar session which is quite frustrating as I feel that the team needs to work as a whole to approach the task with best chance of getting the best grade. Overall what we did discuss was proactive but without the other members of our group I think we will struggle to progress effectively.
